Lent 2018

Lent leaflet 2018

Since the early days of the church, the 40 days (excluding Sundays) following Ash Wednesday to the end of Holy Week have traditionally been kept as a time for repentance and study.

Our theme in the Benefice during Lent this year will be ‘healing, wholeness and wellbeing’, with a range of activities, groups, and sermons on offer around that theme. We hope, together, to explore more of what it means for the whole church to be a community of healing and wholeness.

A leaflet and calendar giving details of our Lent programme is available in church today, please do take them home with you and plan to join in with something on offer during Lent. You can also download them here: Your Guide to Lent, 2018. For many of the groups and activities it is important that we know numbers, so please do sign up using the sign-up sheets available in both churches.

Contact the church office if you would like to borrow a copy of “Where memories go, why dementia changes everything” by Sally Magnusson, or “Mental Health, the Inclusive Church Resource”, edited by Jean Vanier & John Swinton.

Additional resources, and events happening outside our Benefice, will be signposted in the weekly pew leaflet. If you would like a conversation with one of the ministry team for further ideas for your own spiritual growth and wellbeing during Lent, please do ask us.

If you are looking for an online resource, why not download the app #LiveLent for daily prayers and reflections on the Gospel of John.
