Dear Reverend Strathie

Further to our previous correspondence from my colleague Mike Davis, please be advised that the Cabinet Member for Development, Transport and the Economy and the Acting Strategic Director of Place have considered all the objections to the above scheme. For the reasons explained in Mike Davis’ correspondence, the decision has been taken to proceed with the scheme not withstanding your objection and the Traffic Regulation Order has now been sealed.

Yours sincerely,

Cancelled – Harvest Barn Dance

Sadly, we have had to take the decision to cancel the Barn Dance due to take place on Saturday 1 October because it is not financially viable for the numbers we have. The intention had been that any monies raised after covering our costs would be donated to our link Diocese in Malawi. If you would like to make a donation towards education in Malawi, there is the opportunity to do so at our Harvest services on Sunday 2 October.

In addition, the Sunday lunch already planned for Sunday November 6 will now be a fundraiser for Malawi, We do hope that this will be well supported.

Calling Thought for the Week writers

Thought for the Week in the weekly pew sheet has been a much valued way of sharing our insights. As from mid-September, there will be sign-up sheets in St Anne's and St Mary's for people to have the chance to offer their wisdom.

Open to all ages, individuals, families, groups, friends, etc. The Gospel reading for the Sunday will be given as a help, or thoughts on seasonal or liturgical festivals would be welcomed. To help smooth running please submit your thoughts to the Church Office by the Tuesday of the week before the Pew Sheet goes out.

Can you help? We are looking for a volunteer kitchen assistant to join our friendly team and help with preparation of vegetables, serving meals, clearing tables etc. We cannot offer payment as all the helpers are volunteers but you would be given a delicious, freshly cooked two course meal to take home.

If you would be interested please contact Ann Andrew, Co-ordinator, Tel: 449 9682. We look forward to hearing from you.
