It commemorates the institution of The Eucharist and The Watch recalls Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. This act of worship offers the opportunity for quietness and reflection and the Service begins with Bach’s Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, where the haunting repeating theme evokes the inevitability of the Passion.
