Children’s Groups

Children's groups at both Churches will resume after the summer break.

Antisocial Behaviour

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing increased levels of antisocial behaviour in the grounds of both churches, and are working with the police and other external agencies to try to resolve the problems. We are also regularly disposing of used needles, so ask that you are vigilent in St Mary’s Churchyard and in the grounds around St Anne’s, and especially that you keep a close eye on children at all times.

Minister on placement

Many of you will know Fiona Elvins who is the Lay Minister at St Columba United Reformed Church in the village. She has been accepted to train for ordination within the URC, and as part of her training is spending six months in the benefice exploring what it means to be Anglican. Please do make Fiona welcome and if she asks any questions she’s not being nosy, it’s to help with her training!

Parish Breakfast

Due to holidays there will be no Parish Breakfast on Sunday 6 August. All are welcome when Parish Breakfast resumes on Sunday 3 September.

10:00 a.m. Refreshments @ St Mary’s

We are looking for new recruits to join our rota in serving refreshments. I hope you would all agree our splendid team provide a warm drink and wonderful hospitality after every 10:00 a.m. service. Numbers have dwindled recently and we are struggling to lay our refreshments each week. Could you help out? Remember the more volunteers, the easier the shared responsibility over several months. If you feel you can help in any way please contact Philip via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Calling to Serve?

Is God calling your child to serve? We are looking for new recruits, aged from 11 to 18 years of age, to assist clergy at the eucharist. This works on a rota basis and is completely flexible around other commitments. The duties include leading the processions with candles, laying the altar with bread and wine, and bringing our gifts to God. If interested please speak to Philip or contact him via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
