Thought for the day, Second Sunday of Lent

Today we are thinking about what it means to read the Bible as the inspired and living word of God. You might like to follow this up by reading these verses from the Bible each day, reflecting on them as you go about your daily life; asking what might God be saying to you. How might these words from the Bible change you?

Monday: Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7)

Tuesday: Just as you do not know how the breath comes to the bones in the mother’s womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything. (Ecclesiastes 11:5)

Wednesday: I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live. (Ezekiel 37:14)

Thursday: The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. (John 3:8)

Friday: If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you. (Romans 8:11)

Saturday: Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
