Thought for the day, Fourth Sunday of Lent

Today we are thinking about how the Bible enlightens and informs us. You might like to follow this up by reading these verses from the Bible each day, reflecting on them as you go about your daily life; what might God be saying to you. How might these words from the Bible change you?

Monday: The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

Tuesday: O that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me; when his lamp shone over my head, and by his light I walked through darkness. (Job 29:2-3)

Wednesday: But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. (Proverbs 4:18)

Thursday: The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you by night; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. (Isaiah 60:19)

Friday: The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. (John 1:5)

Saturday: For it is the God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness’, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)
