Thought for the day, Third Sunday of Lent

Today we are thinking about how the Bible can nourish us as Christians. You might like to follow this up by reading these verses from the Bible each day, reflecting on them as you go about your daily life; what might God be saying to you. How might these words from the Bible change you?

Monday: For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and dug out cisterns for themselves, cracked cisterns that can hold no water. (Jeremiah 2:13)

Tuesday: I would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you. (Psalm 81:16)

Wednesday: Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that I need. (Proverbs 30:8)

Thursday: Give us this day our daily bread. (Matthew 6:11)

Friday: Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35)

Saturday: On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. (John 7:37-38)
