Captain Noah and the Rainbow

As the Sunday Groups year draws to a close we are looking forward to Children’s Sunday on 29 June. At St Mary’s the children will be presenting a musical play called Captain Noah and His Floating Zoo (by Joseph Horowitz and Michael Flanders). This is exciting and they deserve a really good congregation that morning.

Here are four of the songs (recorded for us by Mick Perrier and St Mary's Singers) that you can download for your child to practice over the coming weeks:

And the words of the songs are here:

On Children’s Sunday, I would like all the children to please wear a brightly coloured t-shirt. The children will be given their mask or costume when they arrive. Lastly, there will be a dress rehearsal on Saturday 28 June from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

If you have any questions or if you would like to offer help, please contact Tammy Tearoe through the church office.

The Prayer

(children will shout out the italicized lines)

Purring cats and barking dogs
Come and praise the Lord!
Laughing ducks and croaking frogs
Come and praise the Lord!
Rumbling storms and soft showers
Come and praise the Lord!
Rustling leaves and whispering flowers
Come and praise the Lord!
Singing birds and buzzing bees
Come and praise the Lord!
Lapping waves and crashing seas
Come and praise the Lord!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Amen.

‘I’ll never flood the earth like that again,’ God told Noah. ‘When you see the rainbow in the sky, remember my promise to you.’
