Dear Friends,

‘For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.
‘Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done.’’

Throughout history any movement of the Holy Spirit to draw more people to faith in Christ has always begun with prayer.

Jesus Christ calls every person to follow him. As Christians it’s our duty and joy to share that invitation. That’s why the Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting every church in England to join in a week of prayer this Pentecost, from 8-15th May 2016 – let’s pray for every Christian to receive new confidence and joy in sharing this life-transforming faith. You can find out more about this on thykingdom.co.uk

We are planning to join in with this invitation, with 24 hours of continuous prayer, in which we invite YOU to pray for our world, our country, our city, our community, for ourselves and each other. We are calling it Pray24Moseley, and using the hashtag #Pray24Moseley on social media (Facebook and Twitter) to promote the day.

The hope is to show the length, width and depth of prayer in all different styles and traditions in a space to welcome all. We are excited by this opportunity to simply pray, share our faith with others and to draw more people to faith in Christ and hope you will want to join us in this opportunity. So the details!

The day of prayer will happen across Saturday 14 – Sunday 15 May, commencing at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and concluding with Sung Eucharist at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. The day will be held at St Mary’s Church, right in the centre of Moseley.

We hope to have an organisation, group, church to lead an hour of prayer (it will be first come first served as to which slot) in whatever style and format. It doesn’t have to fill the whole hour, as times of silence are also an act of prayer. We do hope that some may even consider leading prayer in the early hours of Sunday morning!

Please do consider taking part in this day of prayer and feel free to contact us (details below).

‘Come Holy Ghost, our souls inspire, and lighten with celestial fire’

With many best wishes, prayers and peace
