Practical Vocal Techniques for Choir Singers and Choral Conductors

Following the highly successful and enjoyable first 6-week session, a further second session of the Choral Class is being offered.

As in the first 6 weeks we will address aspects of singing in a choir that hard-pressed conductors often don’t have time for:

  • Warming up
  • Clean attacks
  • Vocal technique required for singing in tune
  • Breathing technique, and
  • The legato line.

We also cover some aspects of music theory: time signatures and counting, key signatures, triads and “finding your note”, as well as watching and listening and the pronunciation of sung English and Latin.

There will be five lessons in this session, finishing before Easter, one each week on Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., 28 February 2017, 7 March, then a 2-week hiatus, continuing on 28 March, 4 and 11 April.

The cost for this session is £50 per student for the 5-lesson module.

The third session will start on the 25th April and run through May.

Classes take place at 157 All Saints Road, Kings Heath B14 6AT.
