Dear All,

Thank you ever so for your efforts lately with the Christmas Fair and the convivial turnout yesterday evening for “the birthday bash”! A lovely evening was had by all and it was good to catch up with come past friends. Now to the future:

Tomorrow is Advent Sunday and sees our youngsters sing with the Robed Choir at 10:00am: note 9:30am rehearsal. We welcome Lucy Ellis who will be singing with us for the first time. This will be a special service also for Naomi Hall and Mimi Howson who, having completed their admission workbooks, will receive their surplices from Rev. Hazel. Congratulations!

At 6:30pm Singers will be helping lead the Service of Readings and Music for Advent. Rehearsal at 5:30pm.

Next Friday, 8th December, Robed Choir sings for two Ladies’ night dinners at Kings Heath Lodge on the corner of Wheelers Lane and Alcester Road. We depart there after practice, leaving with robes and music at 8:00pm.

Next Sunday, 10th December: Singers are on at 10:00am (9:30am rehearsal) with Robed Choir at 6:30pm.

Sunday 17th December: Robed Choir with Juniors at 10:00am (9:30am rehearsal) and at 6:30pm for our Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. Juniors are very welcome to join us for this very special service. Rehearsal at 5:00pm with tea at 6:00pm. We look forward to Christopher Maclean singing the iconic solo this year!

Monday 18th December Robed Choir sings in Leamington departing from St Mary’s at 8:00pm.

Tuesday 19th will be last Treble practice this year and will be more of a party! Normal time: 5:00–6:00pm.

Thursday 21st will be a busy day! We sing at the QE Hospital from 12:00 noon til 1:00pm. Gather in the main lobby to the right of the main entrance and I’ll take you up to the appropriate spot. In the evening we share Duncan and Katrina’s hospitality at the Vicarage. This is for Robed Choir and Singers. No Singers rehearsal.

Friday 22nd: No Robed Choir rehearsal this evening.

Sunday 24th: Christmas Eve but also 4th Sunday of Advent. So—normal 10:00am service (SINGERS), 5:00pm Christingle Service (JOINT CHOIRS WITH JUNIORS) and 11:00pm Midnight Eucharist (ROBED CHOIR) with carols at 10:45pm.

Monday 25th: Christmas Day: 10:00am Parish Communion (JOINT CHOIRS). No early rehearsal. No Evensong.

Sunday December 31st: New Year’s Eve: Choirs off duty. No service at St Mary’s. 11:00am service at St Anne’s.

No rehearsals Tuesday 2nd January, Thursday 4th January, Friday 5th January.

Choir Services resume Sunday 7th January (Epiphany) with Joint Choirs (with Juniors) at 10:00am and 6:30pm.

Normal rehearsals on Tuesday 8th (Trebles), Thursday 11th (Singers) and Friday 12th (Robed).
