Saturday Morning Songs

Jeanne Conard Jones, Mezzo-Soprano
Michael Perrier, Piano

This month’s informal Saturday morning Coffee Concert welcomes back Mezzo-Soprano Jeanne Conard Jones who will beguile us with a wide variety of songs, some well-known (“Summertime” by George Gershwin), some not so much (“Missus Lowsborough-Goodby” by Cole Porter).

The expressive range of the songs travels from the tender (“Les feuilles mortes”, which you will recognize, in spite of the French language) to the hilarious (“100 Ways to Lose a Man”, Leonard Bernstein). Oddities from Musical Theatre are not forgotten, with songs from Annie Get Your Gun and Cabaret, and Jeanne will also present her favourite from Thomas (“Fats”) Waller.

Everyone’s heartily invited. Drink a refreshing cup of coffee at the church with “Coffee and Company” from 10.30 a.m. and enjoy an informal hour of music. If you’re visiting the Moseley Farmers’ Market, pop in for good music, good coffee, good fellowship. A retiring collection will be taken.
